Mark Danni
Director - Conductor - Percussionist
Who am I?
My name is Mark Danni, and I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!). Growing up, I had a passion for playing drums and conducting and got my first drum set at age 10. I also played football in high school as a wide receiver and defensive back. After high school, I went to Baldwin-Wallace University to study music and conducting and met my wonderful wife, Karen, while working on a musical together.
After college, I moved to NYC and taught band on Long Island for 3 years before playing drums and percussion on 6 Broadway shows and 8 national tours, including conducting the national tour of Les Misérables. I very successfully moved to directing in 2000 and had a wonderful opportunity to create an Equity theatre company, TheatreZone, in Naples, Florida. I also created the theatre program for The Community School of Naples (CSN) which is the home of TheatreZone.
When I am not directing, conducting, or playing in the pit, you can find me listening to classic rock, watching football, feeding the birds on my front porch, and being my kids' own personal wallet.
